What are the factors affecting the color of granite stone, and how is it formed?

Mar 30, 2023

Granite, one of the main constituent rocks of the earth's crust, is an igneous rock formed by the condensation of magma below the surface, and its main components are feldspar and quartz.

Granite is not easy to weather, beautiful in color, and its appearance and color can be maintained for more than a hundred years. Due to its high hardness and wear resistance, it is not only used for high-level architectural decoration projects and hall floors, but also the first choice for outdoor carvings.

Different granites have different colors due to different composition minerals, white granite and red granite.
In addition, as the granite stones produced by the same mine mouth continue to be mined, there will be certain differences in the color of the surface granite and the deep granite.
Because granite stones are naturally formed, the mineral content inside cannot be distributed particularly uniformly, which will naturally lead to color differences between deep and surface stones.

In addition to the color of the stone itself, the color of granite will be slightly different with different processing techniques. Generally speaking, the color of the smooth surface of the same stone is better than that of the singeing surface, particle surface or other rough surfaces. The color looks darker, which also affects the use of stone.
Choosing stone with appropriate color and pattern can beautify the building, increase the beauty of the building, and at the same time improve the coordination between the building and the surrounding environment.
